The music of this concert is dedicated to St. Prince Josaphat, greatly revered throughout the Orthodox church. The \u201dDivine Liturgy of Davydovych\u201d draws from the traditions of the early Baroque style with canons between two choirs and simple harmony patterns. One polytonal episode describes the battle in heaven; after the fighting between angels and the devil, the latter disappears from the score, sym-bolising God\u2019s victory. The concert ends with the triumphal glorifica-tion of the Heavenly Kingdom.<\/p>\n
